Chapter 60, died May 31, 2024, at the Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. Ray was born in Bloomington, IL, on October 1, 1948, to Curtis and Myrtle Starkey (Farrell). He married Nellie "Kay" Van Oppen, in Eureka, IL, on November 16, 1983. He leaves behind his wife and six children: Patrick Neal (Jeni) Starkey, Petersburg, IL, Cristina Van Bibber, Springfield, IL, Angela (Jerry) Rizqallah, Hersey, MI, Robert Edward (Rachel) Starkey, Gulfport, MS, Amanda Kay Starkey (Doug) Eureka, IL, and Christopher Allen Starkey, Goodfield, IL. There are also 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are his siblings: Wilbert, Gloria, Reva and Harlan.
